Welcome to the Titletown Report.
Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that the Green Bay Packers will release Jimmy Graham on Thursday. The team will create $8 million in cap room by doing so, and it’s now a question of how GM Brian Gutekunst plans to use it.
Will Gutekunst target a tight end to replace Graham in free agency? Will the additional money go towards signing a linebacker or a defensive lineman? Or could it be used to help re-sign players with expiring contracts in 2021?
Graham’s performances didn’t meet expectations the past two seasons so this decision doesn’t come as a surprise.
