The Green Bay Packers’ rookie class got a few days off this week. For perhaps the first time since last summer, the team’s eight draft picks and twelve undrafted rookies got some down time following the conclusion of rookie minicamp on Saturday afternoon.
The draft process is a brutal period for these players. Immediately following the end of their final college football seasons, most draft-eligible individuals dive immediately into workouts to prepare for drills that they will run at the NFL Combine and/or at their school’s Pro Day. That is effectively a full-time job, as is flying around the country for interviews and continuing to train between Pro Day and the draft itself.
