The Green Bay Packers completely revamped their safety room this offseason. None of the team’s top three safeties from a year ago are back in Green Bay this year. In addition to signing highly regarded free agent Xavier McKinney, GM Brian Gutekunst also drafted three safeties, second-round pick Javon Bullard, fourth-rounder Evan Williams, and fifth-round selection Kitan Oladapo. While Bullard garnered most of the early attention, Williams has been showing why he has the potential to be a real contributor on defense as a rookie thus far in training camp.
One thing that GM Brian Gutekunst looked for with his safeties is versatility.
