With wide receiver Geronimo Allison returning from suspension this week, the Green Bay Packers had to make a roster move to open up a spot. They have decided to release defensive lineman Ricky Jean Francois accommodate Allison, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Packers signed Jean Francois back in March to shore up their defensive line. He worked with the starters and No. 2 defense during training camp and the preseason, suggesting that the team planned to use him extensively during the regular season, as did the $250,000 signing bonus included in his contract.
