Packers release RB Darrin Hall

-- The Green Bay Packers trimmed down their roster on Saturday, announcing the release of running back Darrin Hall.

Hall, who was claimed off of waivers from the Cincinnati Bengals in July shortly after the start of training camp after injuries clobbered the Packers' backfield, played in all three preseason games. He accounted for 10 carries that registered 39 yards, with 31 of them coming on seven carries against the Baltimore Ravens.

This leaves Aaron Jones, Jamaal Williams, Dexter Williams, Tra Carson and Keith Ford as the Packers' running backs at the moment, with the unknown variable being how many they'll carry into the regular season.
