The Packers decided today to release veteran defensive lineman Letroy Guion, who was slated to miss the first four games of the season due to suspension. Just a few days ago, PackersNews.com's Michael Cohen basically asked Ted Thompson why Guion was still on the team after multiple infractions. Thompson's cryptic response was "We're not there yet."
Well, something must have happened to get Thompson "there" in the space of just a few days. Packersnews.com's Tom Silverstein speculates that perhaps the team learned that Guion would face an additional suspension as a result of his DUI arrest in Hawaii back in June.
