After being signed to the 53-man roster on Saturday and playing in Sunday’s win over the Los Angeles Rams, cornerback Robert Rochell was released by the Green Bay Packers on Monday.
The move is more procedural than performance based.
Rochell was signed from the practice squad after the Packers suspended receiver Romeo Doubs for conduct detrimental to the team. Now needing to reinstate Doubs to the active roster to start this week, a corresponding roster move was required, and releasing Rochell was it.
Coach Matt LaFleur said he anticipated talking with Doubs on Monday, and the Packers expect him back with the team this week.
