New York (AFP) - Green Bay Packers receiver Jordy Nelson, who missed the entire 2015 NFL season but led the league with 14 touchdown catches this season, was named NFL Comeback Player of the Year on Friday.
In addition to paying tribute to Nelson, the Professional Football Writers of America selected Atlanta Falcons linebacker Vic Beasley, who led the NFL with 15.5 sacks, as the 2016 NFL Most Improved Player.
Nelson, whose status is uncertain for Sunday's crucial Packers' playoff game at Atlanta due to cracked ribs, suffered a pre-season knee injury in 2015 and did not return until 2016.
