After ridding themselves of two Super Bowl XLV heroes in two days between running back James Starks and cornerback Sam Shields, both dealing with concussions or concussion symptoms to finish their 2016 seasons, the Packers are beginning the process of getting younger.
Starks' removal didn't leave much of a gap, other than the fact he may have been the best pass-blocking tailback on the team's roster. However, wide receiver-turned-running back Ty Montgomery is the only player under contract at the position. Eddie Lacy, who finished his 2016 season on injured reserve, still awaits a new deal to remain in Green Bay.
