Packers re-sign TE John FitzPatrick

The Green Bay Packers re-signed tight end John FitzPatrick, the team announced Monday. FitzPatrick, who was signed off the Atlanta Falcons' practice squad on Oct. 11 of last year, played in nine regular season games and was active for the team's playoff loss in Philadelphia.

FitzPatrick, 25, was a restricted free agent but did not receive a tender, making him unrestricted and free to sign with any team. The Packers are bringing him back to compete for a 53-man roster spot at tight end behind Tucker Kraft and Luke Musgrave.

Ben Sims is likely his top competition for a roster spot and role as the third tight end.
