The Green Bay Packers have made an interesting set of moves over the last few days. First, the team released long snapper Matt Orzech, without adding a potential replacement, in a corresponding roster move to the activation of defensive tackle Jonathan Ford from the injured reserve. Ford was approaching the end of his 21-day practice window, where he was allowed to practice with the team without counting against the 53-man roster. Had Ford not been activated, he would have reverted to the injured reserve for the remainder of the 2024 season.
After that swap on the 53-man roster, the Packers also released fullback Andrew Beck, who had previously been called up for the last three games, from their practice squad.
