Packers Put Down The Football And Help Build A House

GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Over a dozen Green Bay Packers players teamed up with Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity to participate in a home build Tuesday.

Players helped to clear the lot, removing branches and downed trees to prepare the property for the next steps of building a house.

The lot is located in the 1000 block of Smith Street on Green Bay’s east side.

Organizers say collaborations like this showcase the community spirit of Green Bay and demonstrate the importance of giving back.

“I think it’s just that extra bit of exposure that’s really nice, and for them, coming into the community and being new to the area, for them to see a lot of the work that’s being done with area nonprofits and local families,” said Jessica Diederich, CEO of Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity.
