Green Bay — Ron Zook wants Tim Masthay to think less.
But that's like asking the Packers punter to change the color of his eyes or sound of his voice.
He's a thinker. It's who he is.
He reads athlete profiles in newspapers and magazines and survival stories in books. He takes online psychology courses. And he weighs his responsibility to his teammates more than his stats or the public's perception of his performance.
So punting will never be mindless to Masthay.
And that means in a year when Masthay could consider how well he and the Packers have prevented any real threat of a long punt return, the sixth-year veteran also finds himself contemplating a handful of mistakes.
