The Green Bay Packers decided to make some alterations to their backfield on Thursday. According to ESPN's Rob Demovsky, the team promoted running back John Crockett from the practice squad, releasing fellow ball carrier Alonzo Harris in a corresponding move.
Both Crockett and Harris entered the season as undrafted free agents on the Packers' 90-man roster. Crockett, the more decorated of the two after a record-setting career at North Dakota State, suffered a sprained ankle early in camp and played sparingly during the preseason. Harris, meanwhile, managed to produce despite a broken hand, securing the final spot in the backfield.
