Packers predicted to sign Jets projected $58 million veteran starter to bolster defense

The Green Bay Packers will likely be in the market for a cornerback this offseason, as Jaire Alexander is coming off two straight injury-riddled campaigns, and the team lacks high-end talent and production at the position outside of the two-time Pro Bowler.

Green Bay could look to address the pressing need in April's draft, but Sportsnaut's Matt Johnson predicts the Packers will sign New York Jets cornerback D.J. Reed in free agency.

"The Green Bay Packers certainly need pass-rushing help, but there's also a glaring need in the secondary. Jaire Alexander – 14 games played in the last two seasons – hasn't demonstrated he can stay on the field and this pass defense takes a massive hit when he isn't out there.
