The Pittsburgh Steelers picked up a resilient 28-27 Week 10 victory over the Washington Commanders on Sunday, as Mike Tomlin's squad stormed back from a 24-14 second-half deficit and established themselves as a legitimate playoff contender.
One of the primary reasons for Pittsburgh's improbable road win was the performance of the defense. Teryl Austin's unit shut down the Commanders' potent offense in the fourth quarter and held electric rookie signal caller Jayden Daniels to just 202 passing yards and a 50% completion rate.
The Steelers' front seven receives most of the praise for the defense's excellence this season, but Pittsburgh's secondary has vastly improved in 2024.
