Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst announced several moves on Tuesday afternoon, one of which was somewhat expected and another that will undoubtedly raise a few eyebrows.
Wide receiver Geronimo Allison has been placed on injured reserve, a day after head coach Mike McCarthy indicated that the third year veteran would most likely need surgery after a visit to core injury specialist Dr. William Meyer in Philadelphia.
The Packers also released safety Jermaine Whitehead, two days after he was ejected from the team's game against the Patriots for throwing a punch. While it's unlikely he was released strictly because of that infraction, it most likely didn't help a player whose play has been somewhat inconsistent throughout the 2018 season.
