Yesterday we learned the tragic news that former Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson passed away at age 68. Thompson had an illustrious career, serving as GM from 2005 to 2017. In his first-ever NFL draft, he made arguably the greatest/most controversial pick in NFL history when he drafted Aaron Rodgers. That decision, among other corresponding moves, led Green Bay to their fourth Super Bowl in 2010. In total, Thompson drafted 20 players that were selected to at least one Pro Bowl. Some are key contributors still on the Packers’ roster. The entire franchise and fanbase owe Thompson a tremendous debt of gratitude for his service.
