Packers open to trading pick at NFL Draft?

“Having the draft in Green Bay really doesn’t change anything in how we go about that,” Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst told local reporters Tuesday morning at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis. “We are going to do what is best for the Green Bay Packers, and if that means trading out of the pick we certainly would do it.

Hmmmm. Gutey also mentioned that Packers President Mark Murphy joked with him that it was OK if he traded the team’s first round pick; we will find out April 24th. The Packers have the 23rd selection in the 1st round, but also have multiple needs that could be addressed by accumulating more picks (right now, the Packers only have 7 selections in the draft – far below what Gutey usually selects) or trading for an established veteran.
