Paul Hornung, the man best known as the "Golden Boy" of the Vince Lombardi-era Packers dynasty, died Friday at the age of 84.
Hornung’s decorated football career was set apart by his ability to score points in every way, earning him NFL MVP honors in 1961 and an induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1986.
The Louisville, Ky., native won the Heisman Trophy as a quarterback in 1956 at Notre Dame and is one of only seven players to have won both the Heisman Trophy and the Associated Press NFL MVP award.
The Packers selected him first overall in the 1957 NFL Draft to play primarily running back, and Hornung helped Green Bay win NFL championships in 1961, 1962, 1965 and 1966.
