The Green Bay Packers lost starting nickelback Javon Bullard with an undisclosed ankle injury during Thursday’s loss to the Detroit Lions. According to The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman, Bullard was seen leaving the locker room in a boot and on crutches. Per Schneidman, Bullard wasn’t able to “put any pressure on his right foot.”
Drafted in the second round back in April, Bullard has had an impactful rookie season for the Packers. Originally competing for playing time as a safety, ultimately Green Bay chose to play Bullard in the slot and fourth-round rookie Evan Williams at safety to get their three starters at the position — including future All-Pro Xavier McKinney — on the field at the same time.
