Green Bay — Nate Palmer is no Sam Barrington.
Never has been, may never be.
Palmer's up-and-down play this season for the Green Bay Packers is not what the team envisioned when it anchored its defense with Clay Matthews and Barrington at inside linebacker.
Since Barrington was lost for the season in Week 1 with a severe ankle injury, Palmer — an outside linebacker in college and relative newbie to the inside position —has had to fill the void.
It hasn't always been pretty.
Palmer knows that's the case because Barrington tells him.
