GREEN BAY – For the second straight year, Green Bay Packers tight end Luke Musgrave’s season has been derailed because of injury.
Coach Matt LaFleur said Monday the 2023 second-round draft pick had ankle surgery. It’s uncertain whether Musgrave will return this season, but LaFleur said it’s premature to rule out him playing again in 2024.
“He will hopefully be back later this season,” LaFleur said.
Musgrave was placed on injured reserve after injuring his ankle against the Minnesota Vikings in late September.
He had fallen behind 2023 third-round pick Tucker Kraft on the tight end depth chart.
