GREEN BAY - Now is not the time to let your guard down.
Local health officials worry the Green Bay Packers' playoff run begins at a time when many are dealing with COVID-19 fatigue even as a more-contagious variant of the virus has been detected in Wisconsin. They said a return to normal activity now could be a recipe for disaster if people aren't smart and safe in making playoff party plans.
The Packers flat-out asked fans to stay home for Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Rams. Forgoing large parties with friends or a trip to your favorite eating and drinking establishment may hurt now, but it will help restore economic activity and put more fans in the Lambeau Field stands quicker, said Claire Paprocki, a Brown County public health strategist.
