Packers Have Requested To Host USFL All-Conference Kicker Jack Bates For Workout

GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) – The Green Bay Packers may be looking to add more competition to their special teams room as the team begins mandatory minicamp.

According to KPRC 2’s Aaron Wilson, the Packers, along with the Commanders, Lions, and Ravens, have requested to host USFL star kicker Jake Bates for a workout after his strong season with the Michigan Panthers, which included him hitting a record-setting 64-yard field goal this past season.

Bates, 24, was originally signed by the Houston Texans after going undrafted out of Arkansas in the 2023 NFL draft. He went 17 for 22 on field goal attempts overall and 6 for 10 on attempts over 50 yards during his time with the Panthers but did not attempt any extra points for Michigan.
