Green Bay— It's pretty clear Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy had a couple of replacements in mind when he decided to fire running backs coach Sam Gash and tight ends coach Jerry Fontenot.
According to Fox Sports, McCarthy has hired former St. Louis Rams running backs coach Ben Sirmans to replace Gash, completing the job of filling both vacancies. Fox Sports reported Thursday night that McCarthy had hired Brian Angelichio, the Cleveland Browns' former tight ends coach, to replace Fontenot.
McCarthy fired Gash and Fontenot on Tuesday, so he moved much faster than he has in the past in replacing voids in his staff.
