Green Bay— The path to greatness began Friday on either side of the multistory glass windows housing an ostentatiously overt replica of the Vince Lombardi Trophy, a 50-foot ornament of organizational accomplishment.
Like a lighthouse along the shore, the trophy beckoned, welcoming to Lambeau Field the flocks of Green Bay Packers apostles who arrived ripe with fascination about the opportunity for a modern look at an oft-repeated past.
Through the doors and up the escalator they went, gleefully plopping down $9, $12 or $15 to experience yet another grand opening of yet another grand project.
