Packers free agent signings Aaron Banks, Nate Hobbs have key contract difference

Related Topics: Aaron Banks

The Green Bay Packers agreed to deals with two big free agents on Monday, and now the full contract details have emerged for guard Aaron Banks and cornerback Nate Hobbs.

While on the surface, they may seem like bog standard Packers contracts, with only the signing bonus guaranteed and potential escape hatches built in, the two deals do have a significant difference regarding their structure.

Unlike Hobbs' contract, and in fact most long-term deals Green Bay hands out, Banks' cap hits do not increase each year. Instead, the largest projected cap hit for the guard signed from San Francisco comes in 2026, just the second year of his deal.
