Green Bay Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley’s creativity was on display again in their third down defensive package in the week seven win over the Houston Texans. As a result, the Packer defense helped keep the game close in a 24-22 win. The Texans finished 4-for-13 on third down and punted on four of their five second-half drives.
By now we’re starting to see how Jeff Hafley is molding the defense for the foreseeable future. Going from Joe Barry’s passive control-the-line-of-scrimmage style gap-and-a-half/2-gap defense in the Vic Fangio lineage to an aggressive 1-gap rush defense.
