Looking at this upcoming Green Bay Packers/Detroit Lions game, I’ve started thinking about ways the Packers may look to hit an explosive play against this Lions' defense. After some rough years, the Lions have a good defense this season. Per FTN’s DVOA, they’re 5th against the pass and 3rd against the run. NFL Pro has them allowing an average of -0.16 EPA per play, 2nd best in the league. Pro Football Reference has them as the second-best defense in the league at the percentage of drives that end in a turnover at 19% (just behind the Packers at 20%), led by the 9 combined INTs from their safety tandem of Kerby Joseph and Brian Branch.
