GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers’ cornerback play remains shaky as long as injury-prone Jaire Alexander is out of the lineup.
A week after Eric Stokes played only four snaps and Carrington Valentine 64 against the Chicago Bears, the two basically split the playing time against the San Francisco 49ers with Alexander (knee) sidelined and Keisean Nixon manning the other side. Valentine played 30 snaps against the 49ers, Stokes 26.
The 49ers didn’t provide a big challenge to the Packers’ coverage unit because quarterback Brock Purdy (shoulder) didn’t play.
