It’s here! Family Night has arrived, and the Green Bay Packers are getting out on the Lambeau Field grass this evening to practice in front of the team’s fans.
A few years ago, this was a true scrimmage, with the coaches dividing up teams and having competitive periods and drills between the two sides. In 2014, then-head coach Mike McCarthy changed the format to being more of a traditional practice, just held under the lights. That change came about in part because of a major injury in 2013 — that year, Bryan Bulaga suffered a torn ACL during the scrimmage and was lost for the year.
