Don’t bother making any assumptions about whether the Green Bay Packers will be any good in 2024 based on Sunday night’s preseason game against the Denver Broncos. The Packers took a beating to the tune of 27-2 on Sunday night, but much of the discrepancy came in a first half that featured the Broncos’ starters playing against Green Bay’s backups.
Indeed, the Packers sat 31 players for the game, including nearly every projected starter on the roster. That helped Denver open up a 17-0 lead by halftime as the Broncos defense smothered quarterback Sean Clifford and the Green Bay offense and quarterback Bo Nix led a pair of scoring drives.
