The 6-foot-3, 275-pound defensive lineman had 130 tackles (20½ for a loss) and eight sacks in 37 career games. Looney started his college career at Wake Forest before transferring to Cal in 2014.
Looney’s older brother, Joe is an offensive lineman for the Dallas Cowboys, who was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
He’s the first defensive lineman the Packers have selected and continues Green Bay’s streak of taking at least one at the position in each NFL Draft dating back to 1996.
