At some point this summer, the Green Bay Packers absolutely needed to add a free-agent at inside linebacker.
And now they are. According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, De’Vondre Campbell is expected to sign with the Packers, assuming he passes a physical.
Campbell, a fourth-round pick by the Atlanta Falcons in 2016, will immediately compete with second-year linebackers Krys Barnes and Kamal Martin for a starting job in Joe Barry’s defense.
Campbell brings much-needed experience to the middle of the Packers’ defense having started 70 regular-season games in his career with the Falcons and Arizona Cardinals.
