An NFL player often takes a big step in development and impact in his second season in the NFL. Former Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy talked about it ad nauseum during his tenure with the team, but for good reason: a rookie can often have a tough time truly harnessing their potential in year one, after an offseason spent preparing for the NFL Draft and getting a crash course in his new team’s playbook.
Heading into his second year, Lukas Van Ness seems to be on that trajectory. In the Packers’ first preseason game on Saturday, Van Ness was all over the field and filled up the box score.
