Green Bay — Cornerback Demetri Goodson has been suspended without pay for four games by the NFL for violating the league policy on performance enhancing substances.

The NFL made the announcement Friday afternoon.

In addition, the Packers have informed inside linebacker Nate Palmer that he has been released. Palmer played 519 snaps on defense last year while playing in all 16 games with 10 starts.

Palmer replaced Sam Barrington after the veteran injured his foot in the season opener and started next to Clay Matthews for much of the season.
