Packers Bears Preview

I was introduced to the NFL’s greatest rivalry as a 10 year old and I cried all the way home from Lambeau Field.

The Chicago Bears had just beaten the Green Bay Packers 13-10 in November of 1968. The game was tied late in the 4th quarter when the Monsters of the Midway forced a Donny Anderson punt. A fair catch was called by the Bears but it wasn’t the offense that came on to the field. It was the kickoff team, with kicker Mac Percival putting the ball on a tee. Without a rush, Percival calmly booted the game winning 43 yard field goal.
