The Green Bay Packers recently honored several exemplary law enforcement officers from across Wisconsin as the Packers Protect and Serve Award winners, recognizing them for going above and beyond the call of duty.
One of those officers was Lieutenant Casey Cox, from the Prairie du Chien Police Department. According to Police Chief Kyle Teynor, who nominated Cox, the honor was specifically in recognition of Lt. Cox’s response to a woman and her dog who almost drowned when they fell through the ice on the Mississippi River in January of 2020.
Cox and his fellow award winners each received a special plaque and a $2,000 grant to benefit their department or a nonprofit.
