Josh Jones‘ future was uncertain for much of the summer. Back in May, ESPN’s Rob Demovsky reported that the Green Bay Packers safety had requested a trade. Now just under two weeks away from the start of the regular season, the team has decided to move on.
This isn’t a surprising move as Jones hadn’t featured in any of the Packers’ three preseason games. They also recently brought back safety Ibraheim Campbell, who played well in 2018 before his season was ended with a torn ACL.
The Packers have to be comfortable with their depth at safety.
