Packers' annual meeting of shareholders has the feel of pep rally

Green Bay — At 10:57 a.m. they stood, springing to life beneath a vibrant July sun.

Up from the metal bleachers rose a legion of jersey-clad investors, of cheesehead-toting financiers, of cell phone-waving capitalists, and together they showered a procession of Packers decision makers with unwavering adoration.

Across the unlined grass of Lambeau Field walked the likes of Mark Murphy, president and CEO, and Ted Thompson, executive vice president and general manager. A portion of the board of directors followed.

They climbed the steps to a stage near midfield amidst cries of "Go, Pack, go!
