With a slew of veteran wide receivers filling up the injury report this week, the Green Bay Packers made a minor roster move to get another body at practice. On Thursday, the team announced that they have signed wide receiver DeAngelo Yancey to the practice squad.
Yancey was a fifth-round draft pick by the Packers in 2017 after playing his college football at Purdue. He spent the entire 2017 season on the practice squad and remained with the team through training camp this summer, but was released at final cuts. Yancey was one of the team’s leaders in snaps by wide receivers in the 2018 preseason, but he caught just three of his nine pass targets for 11 yards.
