Packers add Bené Benwikere to practice squad

Even if the NFC Championship Game just around the corner, the Green Bay Packers continue to tinker with their roster. On Tuesday, the team signed free-agent cornerback Bené Benwikere to the practice squad.

Benwikere has spent most of three years in the NFL with the Carolina Panthers, serving primarily as the team's top slot corner from 2014-15. However, a broken leg suffered in December of his second season set back his career. Benwikere did return for the start of the 2016 season, but he struggled, most visibly when Atlanta Falcons star Julio Jones torched him on his way to a 300-yard game.
