Earlier this afternoon, the Packers announced that they have activated linebacker Krys Barnes off injured reserve.
The move did not necessitate a corresponding move as the team had one spot open on its roster.
Barnes, a third-year linebacker, was initially placed on injured reserve on Sept. 13 after suffering an ankle injury in Week 1's game in Minnesota. In that game, Barnes played nine snaps on defense and 15 on special teams.
The timing is good for the Packers who will be without linebacker De'Vondre Campbell this week. While it's doubtful Barnes will be asked to play a significant amount, the added depth at the position is obviously a good thing.
