The 1st Round of the 2023 NFL Draft kicked off Thursday night and it was WILD from the get-go, between trades and surprising selections there was no shortage of action throughout the evening. But for the Packers there was little in the way of razzle-dazzle, as they once again went defense and selected Iowa edge Lukas Van Ness with the 13th Overall Pick. Many fans had hoped that the Packers' drought of going wide receiver in the 1st Round would be broken given Jordan Love entering his first year as the starting quarterback, but instead, Brian Gutekunst chose to shore up Joe Barry's underperforming defense.
