With the passing of the NFL's 53-man cutdown deadline, the NFL futures of roughly 800 players are anyone's guess. In the next week for roughly 500 of them, the future will still seem bright. At 3pm CST today, teams around the league will begin to sign players to their Practice Squad. The Practice Squad rules will continue on with similar rules since 2020, allowing clubs to add up to 16 players total. Of the 16, only 10 have to be rookie or 2nd-year players; the other 6 can have as little or as many seasons possible. NFL teams can also protect 4 players on their practice squad from being poached by another team for their active roster.
