There’s a new sense of urgency entering this year’s draft, as the Packers are in the midst of undergoing a rather drastic reboot with a new general manager and defensive coordinator in tow.
And while Green Bay remains a top Super Bowl contender, thanks mainly to the presence of one Aaron Rodgers, last year’s dismal 7-9 campaign has sent a hard message to team management and fans alike that serious holes remain on the roster.
And though the team has acquired the services of veteran free agents Jimmy Graham and Tramon Williams to provide immediate help in areas of need, the road to recovery still starts and ends with the front office’s ability to procure new talent via the draft.
