The NFL is a bottom-line business, and the Green Bay Packers will treat it as such this spring.
As a championship hopeful, the Packers know they can't afford to be loyal to players who are struggling, especially if they are free agents. It doesn't matter if they once saw those players as vital parts of their future--if they aren't producing, they'll be gone come next September.
One of those free agents is a former first-round pick who has lost his grip on a starting spot during the course of his four-year Packers tenure. Soon, that player could find himself looking for a job elsewhere around the NFL.
