CHICAGO -- The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers fell short on Sunday of breaking the record for coldest game ever played at Soldier Field, but the official game-time temperature of 11 degrees still ranks among the city's chilliest football days.
11 degrees, wind chill -4 , winds 12 mph
The windchill at kickoff was minus-4 degrees with winds of 12 mph.
The coldest game (windchill notwithstanding) in the stadium’s history remains the 2008 meeting between the Bears and Packers when the temperature plummeted to 2 degrees. The NFC North rivals also battled in 3-degree weather in 1983.
