In the years since the NFL and NFLPA agreed to current collective bargaining agreement, the salary cap has skyrocketed. 2017’s cap increase looks no different, with the non-adjusted figure coming in at $167 million, according to NFL Media’s Judy Battista.
The increase of approximately $12 million comes in a little below the projections NFL commissioner Roger Goodell offered during Super Bowl week. Still, it leaves the Green Bay Packers with roughly $40 million in cap space before accounting for the cap rollover from the previous season. The NFLPA released individual team salary caps Wednesday, with Green Bay coming in just under $175 million.
